Most fruit sold in Singapore travels a long way through several hands. To survive that journey it gets picked early and ripened later with artificial agents. It looks right on the shelf, but the flavour never fully arrives.
Fruit'Alive started in 2009 with one van and a simple decision: buy smaller quantities, more often, directly from growers, and let the fruit ripen the way it should. It means we sell out of things. It also means when you bite into our mangosteen, it tastes like mangosteen.
Fifteen years on we deliver to homes across the island and to more than a hundred office pantries every week. The van count has gone up. The way we buy hasn't changed.
Where things stand today.
No calcium carbide, no ethylene chambers, no smoking. Our papaya, jackfruit and dragon fruit ripen on the tree or in transit on their own schedule. If it isn't ready, we don't sell it that week.
We buy from growers we have visited, in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. Fewer hands between the tree and your kitchen means less bruising, less waste and a fairer price at the farm.
A real person reads every WhatsApp message. If something arrives wrong, tell us and we replace it — no forms, no photographs demanded, no argument about whose fault it was.
Started supplying naturally ripened tropical fruit to a handful of households in the east, buying directly from a single grower in Johor.
A client asked whether we could deliver to their office pantry every Monday. We said yes, and corporate fruit boxes quietly became half the business.
Customers kept asking. We brought on local Singapore growers for leafy greens alongside our Malaysian and Thai fruit suppliers.
Expanded the fleet to cover the whole island. Order by 3pm for next-day delivery. We do not deliver on Saturdays.
Launched freshly cut fruit cups in office buildings, restocked daily — the same fruit, just already prepared.
Our regular sourcing regions.
We are a small team and we like hearing from customers directly. Whether it's a question about what's good this week, a corporate enquiry, or something that went wrong with an order, message us.
WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us — usually a reply within the hour during business hours.
